Hi! My name is Alejandra Ruiz and I’m an illustrator of picture books and visual storyteller.

Stories have always been a window to the world for me, helped me build empathy and construct imaginary worlds to escape to when things felt too much. Now, as an adult, I give those stories images. So it's not a job I take lightly. I illustrate stories hoping to build empathy in others, and to help children find the infinite love for reading and being attentive to hear others' stories.

I live in Bogotá, Colombia with my boyfriend Alejandro, our two cats: Cuzco and Raya and a whole lot of plants. When I'm not working you can find me reading, cooking or baking bread.
